While the Information Security industry uses common terms, which have generally accepted and understood meanings, subtle inconsistencies and variations do occur. There are some great glossaries that are maintained in the UK by the University of Birmingham and in the USA by the Minnesota Enterprise Office of Technology (OET). In order to ensure consistency and promote understanding, these documents capture the key terms and their definitions used throughout the industry.
We ensure that all words, phrases and acronyms that are listed in these glossaries are indexed throughout our courses and included in the index of each course handbook so that relevant content around them is easily accessible.
